The Five Dollar Movie takes you on a journey to one of the most innovative and oddest versions of the gig economy: Fiverr.com. But it is also a meta-documentary that uses its subject to create the film—a documentary made about Fiverr, with Fiverr.
A few people have written to me recently asking for an update on the film’s progression, so here we go:
With the exception of some Skype video interviews I need to capture, filming is mostly complete and I’ve spent the last few weekends slowly piecing together the edit. To keep me on track I’m going to start uploading short video clips to YouTube and Vimeo.
Having started a new job in March of this year, The Five Dollar Movie has taken a back seat for the last few months. I have a two week break in August where I plan to work full-time on the edit. After this, I should have a better time estimate for a release. In the mean time here are a bunch of stills taken from the footage. Thanks for your patience, I’m looking forward to sharing the film with you.
